Deportivo Mixco has begun to move its pieces for the next season, in which it will seek consolidate as one of the leading teams in Guatemalan soccerboth locally and internationally.

The chicharronero team, led by the national coach Fabricio Benítez had an outstanding participation in the previous campaign, during which he remained in the top positions in both tournaments.. His consistency allowed him to finish in second position in the accumulated table and achieve a historic qualification to his first international tournament.

Mixco will participate in the 2026 Central American Cup, an unprecedented event for the Mixque institution, which is now preparing to compete on a regional scale.

However, in the National League he was unable to crown his good performance with a title, as he was eliminated in the final stages. In the Apertura 2025 they fell in the quarterfinals and, in the Clausura 2026, they were eliminated in the semifinals after suffering a defeat.

Confirmed reinforcements

With the aim of improving their performance and raising the competitive level of the team, the board began to strengthen the team. In the last hours, the club announced the incorporation of two footballers:

  • Cristian “Chaco” Jiménez, former Municipal player full back

Both players were introduced through the club’s social networks, where Mixco welcomed them with the following message:
