Users of social networks such as Facebook, Messenger and Instagram, both in Guatemala and in other parts of the world, have reported the fall of the platforms during the morning of this Friday, June 12, 2026.
One of the surprises is also the fall of DownDetector for some users, a platform known for tracking this type of failures in digital services.
The falls on the Facebook and Instagram platforms were reported starting at 7:30 a.m. in Guatemala. Users quickly moved to platforms like X to report the fall of these services.
Other users reported the lack of access to platforms such as WhatsApp and other Meta services. According to the media, the main drawback would be in the service from computers, since it would not load the content on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp Web.
Through X’s account, DownDetector announced reports about the downfall of platforms, including Messenger. At 7:59 a.m. it also reported that its home page appeared out of service for some users due to a crash.
The main reports of the fall in Meta services began after 7:40 a.m., with countries such as Mexico and the United States being the main ones to point out the failures.
Through X, users reported that this morning the platforms did not allow them to log in, view the main wall or upload content.
