Heavy rain recorded in the afternoon on Monday, June 22, caused a landslide at 29th avenue and 18th street Brick neighborhood, zone 5 of the capitalwhich forced relief forces to preventively evacuate several families due to the risk of new landslides in the sector.
According to information from the Municipal Firefighters and Volunteer Firefightersa considerable portion of the slope gave way and caused damage to a home located at the top of the slope. As a consequence, columns, sheets, earth and other materials collapsed towards properties located in the lower part, in addition to affecting poles and overhead cables.
The authorities indicated that, until the closing of this note, no buried people or victims had been reported. However, rescuers continued with evaluation, tracking and inspection work to rule out additional risks and verify possible structural damage to nearby homes.

Children, older adults and families are evacuated due to the risk of new landslides
After the emergency, lifeguards began the preventive evacuation of residents who remained in the vicinity of the landslide.
