The authorities of Nicaragua stopped to a Guatemalan citizen after locating 750 kilograms of cocaine hidden in a heavy cargo truck inspected at the border post in White Rockswhich communicates with Costa Rica.
The Nicaraguan National Police identified the driver as Robert “L”66 years old. According to the official version, the vehicle had left Panamaentered Nicaragua from Costa Rican territory and had as its final destination Guatemala.

How was the drug hidden?
During the inspection, officers found 54 metal cylinders containing 643 rectangular packages wrapped with brown adhesive tape.
Field tests They tested positive for cocaine and established a total weight of 750 kilograms, according to the police report.

Truck was destined for Guatemala
cargo transportation, with a Guatemalan license plate, was detained during a check carried out on Monday at Peñas Blancas, one of the main land border crossings in Nicaragua.
The authorities did not publicly detail the declared load of the vehicle or whether there are more people being investigated for the transfer. The driver was presented as the only one arrested in the operation.
The drugs, the truck and the Guatemalan were at the disposal of the corresponding authorities for the start of the judicial process.
Operational is part of the “Retaining Wall”
The Nicaraguan Police indicated that the seizure is part of the strategy called Retaining Wallwhose objective is to prevent the transit of drugs and money related to drug trafficking through the national territory.
Nicaragua is located on one of the routes used to transport drugs produced in South America to Mexico and the United States. The authorities assure that they maintain cooperation with other countries in the region to combat the operations of transnational organized crime.
