The Xochi Highway continues to implement changes gradually as part of the launch of its operations. The most recent change was announced by the company through its social networks, where it reported that Starting July 17, the highway will operate uninterrupted, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

A checkpoint is still pending

Regarding access infrastructure, the Xochi Highway has four sentry boxes, although not all of them are in operation yet.

When the road was inaugurated, only the two main entry and exit checkpoints came into operation, while the two intermediate incorporation checkpoints remained pending authorization.

Checkpoints already enabled on the Xochi Highway

The access control infrastructure of the Xochi Highway It operates partially, with strategic points already in operation:

  • Guardhouse 1 (enabled): located in the kilometer 142, San Antonio Suchitepéquezhas functioned as the main entrance and exit since June 14.

Checkpoint pending authorization

The Guardhouse 2located at kilometer 152 between Mazatenango and San Antonio Suchitepéquez, remains inoperative and is pending authorization as an intermediate incorporation point within the road corridor.

Payment methods available at Xochi

The company reported that the collection system in the Xochi Highway is in the phase of gradual implementation, with payment options already enabled for users of the Corridor of Flowers.

Currently, six authorized payment methods are available:

  • Ebigo (Industrial Bank)
  • Tag Xochi, official device of the company

Furthermore, the company Vivepass indicated that it continues in the process of technological integration, with the possibility of soon being incorporated as a new payment system. The expansion of platforms will be carried out progressively as the operation of the road progresses.

Current rates on the Xochi Highway

The tariff structure of the Xochi Highway establishes a base charge of Q15 for each 10 kilometer section for private vehicles and motorcycles.

However, during this initial phase a special rate of Q35 for the complete tour of the enabled section.

For heavy and passenger transportation, the current rates are as follows:
