The Nomination Commission for Comptroller General of Accounts advances in its integration with the election, this Thursday, of the two representatives of the College of Economists, Public Accountants and Auditors and Business Administrators (CCEE) .

With this designation, only the election of the 11 representatives of the College of Public Accountants and Auditors (CCPA) will remain pending, scheduled for August 6, to complete the integration of the commission, made up of 27 members.

The postulator will be made up of two bodies: the academic and the union, under the direction of a president.

The academic body is made up of the deans of the 13 universities that have faculties of Public Accounting, Auditing, Administration or Economic Sciences, whose representatives have already been confirmed by the study houses.

The presidency of the commission will be headed by Miquel Cortés Bofill, rector of the Rafael Landívar University, who was unanimously elected by 13 of the 17 members of the Rectors’ Forum on July 15.

Once the commission is formed, the president will call the first work session, in which the secretariat and headquarters will be defined. The president of the commission indicated that the URL has the facilities to attend the sessions as well as to receive the citizen observation groups.

In addition, the commission must authorize the terms of the call and the profile of the applicants, in accordance with the legal parameters to access the position.

Likewise, it must establish a work schedule with the objective of delivering to Congress a list of six candidates to elect the comptroller who will take office on October 13 for the period 2026-2030.

The commission must define the different stages for the selection of candidates: review of files, assessment of professional, academic and human projection merits, psychometric tests or interviews.
