Great stories never end. The day simply comes when the protagonist lowers the curtain and lets the memories speak for him. That day has come for Jose Manuel Contrerasone of the last great idols of Communicationsa footballer who made the number 10 a symbol of talent and leadership.
His trip began on October 17, 2004, when he came on as a substitute for Diego Latorre against Heredia. Nobody imagined that that young man would write one of the most brilliant pages in the history of the white club. The road was full of joy and also difficult moments, but each fall strengthened the character of a player who never stopped fighting to return to the top.
Football rewarded him with a career full of success. He won 12 League titles, 10 with Communications and two with Antigua GFC. He was the captain who led the team to the historic six-time championship and one of the leaders who won the Concacaf Cup in 2021.
