Two men died and another was injured in an armed attack that occurred this Tuesday at the entrance to the municipality of San Miguel Dueñas, Sacatepéquez, the Departmental Municipal Firefighters reported this Saturday, July 18.
Lifeguards from the San Miguel Dueñas station indicated that, upon arriving at the scene, they located a pickup truck with multiple bullet holes. Inside were two men who had died from gunshot wounds.
Firefighters also provided pre-hospital care to a third man, who had serious injuries. After stabilizing him, he was transferred to the emergency room at the Pedro de Bethancourt National Hospital, in Antigua Guatemala.
So far, the National Civil Police (PNC) has not reported on a possible line of investigation related to the attack.
The vehicle had multiple bullet holes, while authorities carried out investigations at the scene to establish how the incident occurred.
Prosecutors from the Public Ministry (MP) processed the site of the attack and collected evidence that will contribute to the investigation.
Authorities have not revealed the identity of the victims or provided details about the circumstances under which the armed attack occurred.
