It is not new that, when a World Cup is held, there are a large number of programs, psychics, publications on social networks and even animals that try to predict which country will be champion of the most important tournament in national team football.
There have been plenty of popular cases: from the octopus Paul, who predicted the first World Cup for Spain, to entertainment personalities like Monhi Vidente.
But none of these “oracles” have reached the level of precision of a “supercomputer” that has recently gone viral for achieving the impossible: hitting the last five World Cup champions consecutively.
This is the video game company EA Sports, which, through its games FC 2026 and FC Mobilemanaged to predict that Spain would obtain its second World Cup star.
In fact, on social networks, EA Sports FC published a publication in which it reaffirms that it now has five consecutive successes by the World Cup champion.
“We predicted it. You played it. Spain made it come true. Five predictions in a row. Congratulations to Spain for its second star,” the video game company published.
But how was it possible for a video game to predict the World Cup champion? According to EA Sports FC itself, the “World Cup” mode is available in its video games, a recreation of the competition.
The company noted that users played that mode and helped Spain win the World Cup more than 11 million times.
The only thing that failed in the massive prediction of the players was the rival of Spain, since the majority of those who played the “World Cup” mode chose England as the finalist of the tournament and not Argentina.
In addition, the players had also predicted a 4-2 victory for Spain, a result very far from reality, since the match ended 1-0 with an agonizing goal from Ferrán Torres.
