About two million people, according to the Delegation of the Government in Madrid, took to the streets of the Spanish capital to accompany the Spanish team, World Cup championswho celebrated winning their second World Cup aboard an open-top bus, amidst songs and photographs with the trophy.
The bus route was scheduled to arrive at Plaza de Cibeles at 9:00 p.m.; However, the entire program was delayed by more than an hour, so at 11:25 p.m. the activities were still continuing.
In the Plaza de Cibeles they were waiting for more than 120,000 people for the closing of the celebration, which began in the afternoon with the official receptions at the Palacio de la Zarzuela and the Palacio de la Moncloa.
After these events, the players and the rest of the team members changed their official suits for t-shirts commemorating the title and boarded an open-top bus to share the celebration with the fans.
The tour began in Moncloa and continued through the streets Princesa, Alberto Aguilera, Carranza, Sagasta, Génova – in the opposite direction -, Goya and Serrano; in addition to the Plaza de la Independencia, the Puerta de Alcalá, Alfonso XII and Montalbánuntil ending next to the Cibeles Palace.

In the Palace of Cibeles, headquarters of the Madrid City Council, concluded the parade route and began the main event, which included musical presentations by the singers Ana MenaLola Índigo and Aitana, as well as the group Arde Bogotá.
