The National Civil Police (PNC) reported this Tuesday, July 21, that, in the Xesic Primero canton, Santa Cruz del Quiché, Quiché, agents from Police Station 71 captured Pedro “N”, 23 years old.
The authorities point to him as the person allegedly responsible for killing an 18-year-old man with a hammer.
They added that the attack against the victim would have occurred after an argument, an issue that is still being investigated.
In other cases, the PNC reported that Fredy “N”, 34 years old, was captured in zone 9 of Huehuetenango for the crime of illegal carrying of a firearm.
Meanwhile, in Cotzal, Quiché, Andrés “N”, 26, was arrested and was caught attacking a 22-year-old woman.
Additionally, in zone 1 of Retalhuleu, José “N”, 18 years old, and Luis “N”, 23, were captured following a report that alerted about the presence of two suspicious people in the sector. Upon noticing the police presence, both tried to escape on a motorcycle.
During the inspection, eight rifle ammunition and a lockpick were seized. It is being investigated whether the detainees are related to the theft of motorcycles.
