American media have reported the case of a woman originally from Guatemala who would have murdered inside her home in Los Angeleswhile his relatives ask for financial support for his funeral and for the repatriation process.
According to KTLA, the woman, identified by relatives as Luisa Barrios, died inside her home in Vermont Vista, when she received a head shot while I was sleeping.
KTLA cites the Los Angeles Police Department, who detailed that the shooting occurred around 3.30 in the morning on Sunday, July 19.
According to the authorities and their preliminary investigation, an unknown individual would have shot at least once through the window from Barrios’ room, while she was sleeping.
After the event, the Barrios family, through GoFundMe fundraising pagethey requested financial support from the people for the funeral and the repatriation process from Guatemala.
Inside the page there is a message written by one of Barrios’ relatives stating that the victim had a one-year-old daughter, and describes the fact as “a sudden and heartbreaking event“.
“This has left his family devastated and struggling to cope with the loss. She was a loving motherand her absence is deeply felt by all who knew her,” says the message from Barrios’ relative.
The relative points out that Barrios’ entire family lives in Guatemala, for which “local support is limited,” but that “They do everything possible to meet the needs of Barrios’ daughter“.
“Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean the world to us. Your support will help ensure that your daughter receives the care and stability she needs“, ends the message.
Subsequently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Minex) commented on the death of Barrios, where it stated that they are in the process of evaluation to see if the case qualifies for the County Crime Victims Program.
The MInex stated that the case could also receive support from the Assistance Fund for Guatemalan Migrants in Vulnerable Situations and Deaths Abroad.
