This first shipment is part of the coordinated efforts to advance the incorporation of biofuels, contributing to diversifying the energy matrix, promoting sustainable practices and strengthening security of supply in the country.
As part of this commitment, Chevron has made the required investments for logistical adaptations, infrastructure and operational preparation that allow it to responsibly accompany this process.
The arrival of this shipment is part of the preparatory phase of the process. The marketing of fuels with ethanol in the country will begin on August 21, 2026, when the measure comes into force nationwide for all brands.
“At Chevron we are committed to supporting initiatives that promote the energy development of Guatemala. The arrival of this first shipment of ethanol is a reflection of that commitment,” said Santiago Machado, general manager of Chevron in Guatemala.

The company will continue to accompany the logistical and operational preparation process necessary for the introduction of ethanol into the Guatemalan market, in line with the schedule defined by the authorities. Chevron reaffirms its commitment to the development of the energy sector in Guatemala, and reiterates its willingness to continue collaborating with authorities and other actors to ensure an orderly, transparent implementation that benefits consumers.
