The Central American talent was present at the historic halftime show of the 2026 World Cup final, on Sunday, July 17. Shakira chose a Salvadoran dancer to participate in her presentation.

It is about Daniella Álvarez, 19 years old, originally from Santa Ana, El Salvador. The young dancer was part of the choreography that accompanied Shakira during the halftime show of the match between Spain and Argentina.

Upon learning that the Colombian star had called on her followers to send videos in which they danced to her song Dai Dai and, among them, selecting those who would accompany her on the World Cup stage, Álvarez did not waste the opportunity.

“Teacher Fernando Llano asked me if I wanted to record a video with his friend Enola Bedard, who was looking for dancers for Shakira’s song. After a day of rehearsal and another of recording in Santa Monica, Bedard published the behind-the-scenes video on social networks. Just then, Shakira uploaded a story and announced that she would watch the videos of the song to choose some fans who would accompany her on the show.“, the Salvadoran told Infobae.

Her video caught the attention of Shakira, who chose her to join the dance group that participated in the show.

Álvarez recounted the experience he had working with the artist, in an atmosphere of warmth and professionalism.

“It was a very nice dynamic. She was present at all the rehearsals and both she and her team welcomed us in a very nice way, with open arms and willing to help at all times. Definitely I am very grateful to have shared with such an admirable woman and with a very beautiful energy.”, he expressed.

However, the experience of dancing on the field of a stadium full of fans is unlike any other.

“As we started our part of the show, I took a moment to look around me and really feel what I was experiencing, seeing that many people in the stadium and realizing that I was so lucky to be there, next to great people and artists, at such an important event. It was a feeling that I am grateful to have experienced and that I will always carry in my soul.”said the young woman, who currently lives in California, United States.
