Vehicle owners in Guatemala still have time to make the payment of the Vehicle Circulation Tax (ISCV) and, in this way, avoid fines, interest and other surcharges for fail to comply with that obligation.
The Superintendence of Tax Administration (SAT) has reiterated throughout 2026 that Guatemalans They have until July 31 to pay the tax.
That is to say, People have only five days to make paymentthe amount of which will vary depending on the model and year of the vehicle, as well as whether it is a car or another type of transportation.
Tax authorities have also urged Guatemalans to don’t wait until the last day to make the payment, with in order to avoid fines for non-compliance.

How to pay the Vehicle Circulation Tax?
Option 1: Declaraguate
- Enter the Declaraguate portal.
- Select the SAT-4091 form in the Vehicles section.
- Enter the license plate, the owner’s NIT and the registration card number (when applicable).
- Generate the form.
- Pay the tax at an authorized bank or through online banking.
Option 2: Virtual Agency
- Enter the SAT Virtual Agency.
- Follow the route: Tax Services → Declaraguate → Generate form.
- Generate the payment slip.
- Pay at a bank or through electronic banking.
On July 9, it was learned that the 46% of the vehicle fleet in Guatemala had already made the ISCV payment.
Fine
If a person does not pay the ISCV on the established date, will incur omission of taxes and must pay a fine.
The SAT explained that the fine is equivalent to 100% of the unpaid tax. To that amount are added the interest that is generated for each day of delay after the established date.
