The Ninth Criminal Sentencing Court postponed this Monday, July 27, the hearing to review coercive measures of Jose Ruben Zamora, in which he would request authorization to leave the country for medical reasons.
In statements to the media, the journalist indicated that the request is due to problems with one of his knees.
The Court set the new hearing for next August 6, at 8:30 a.m.
The file is in the Second Appeals Chamber, which received it after the Supreme Court of Justice confirmed the repetition of the trial against Zamora.
Now, the Court must also schedule the date for the repetition of the debate in this case for alleged money laundering.
Zamora added that, due to the problem with one of his knees, he has been forced to stop exercising at home.
He added that he has other health problems, so he hopes to obtain permission to leave the country.
He also indicated that he lacks resources, since his accounts remain frozen.
Second case
In the second case against the journalist, it was learned that the Third Chamber of the Court of Appeals confirmed Judge Maximino Morales, of the Second Criminal Court, to continue hearing the case in which Zamora is accused of continuous use of falsified documents and conspiracy to obstruct justice.
Following the resolution of the Third Chamber, Judge Morales must schedule the intermediate stage hearing.
