The rescue forces reported on July 26 about a traffic accident at kilometer 89 of the route that leads from Santa Lucía Cotzumalguapa to Siquinalá, Escuintla.
According to information from the Volunteer Firefighters, the accident left four people dead and one injured.
On the other hand, the Departmental Municipal Firefighters released photographs showing that a heavy vehicle was involved in the accident.
Both rescue forces indicated that they used special equipment to recover the bodies, since they were between the twisted irons of the vehicle.
“Special equipment will be used to recover the bodies and the corresponding authorities will be notified,” said the Departmental Municipal Firefighters.
Another accident reported this Sunday, July 26, occurred at kilometer 123 of the Inter-American route, where two people were treated for having a nervous breakdown.
In addition, another accident occurred on the route that leads from Antigua Guatemala to the village El Hato, where a woman of approximately 30 years old died.
