Actor and Oscar winner Jared Leto is in the public eye after a documentary report revealed accusations from 10 women, who claim that they suffered abuse during their adolescence by the actor.
It was through the report Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret, broadcast by the BBC, that the women shared their stories, which occurred between 2002 and 2016.
In the report, four women accuse him of “sexually abusing them when they were teenagers.” In addition, he is accused of having “phone calls with sexual content” with minors.
Faced with the accusations, Jared Leto responded to the accusations in statements to The Hollywood Reporterafter the BBC documentary accused him of alleged assault and sexual misconduct.
In his response, the leader of the band Thirty Seconds to Mars denied the accusations and stated: “I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life.”
The response sent to The Hollywood Reporter highlights that the accusations presented in the documentary “are absolutely and categorically false.” This is the actor’s first statement on the subject, as the BBC indicated that it sought to know his position before the publication of the documentary, but received no response.

The BBC published part of the content of the documentary on July 29 Jared Leto: Hollywood’s dark secretproduced by the same network, which includes accusations from 10 women about alleged inappropriate behavior by the actor.
The documentary highlights that four of them reported having suffered alleged criminal sexual behavior when they were still minors. Among the testimonies is that of one of the alleged victims, who stated that she was sexually assaulted by the actor in a motel bathroom when she was 17 years old.
Another of the complainants claimed that she had sexual relations with Leto when she was 17 years old, an event that, according to the report, occurred in California, where it could constitute statutory rape. The woman claims that the actor downplayed the situation.
Other women agreed that they received phone calls with explicit sexual content when they were minors. One of them claimed that Leto even suggested they have sex when she was 16 and subsequently sent her an agreement to prevent her from talking about the relationship.
The BBC maintains that it corroborated the testimonies and other evidence related to the accusations against Leto, finding photographs and messages that would support the interaction of the complainants with the singer.
In addition, he indicated that two people who worked with Leto and his band recounted the behaviors and the way in which he interacted with teenagers.
This would be the second time that Leto faces accusations of this nature, after, in June 2025, nine women pointed him out in an investigation published by Air Mail.
