The National Civil Police (PNC) reported that an alleged member of the Barrio 18 gang was injured when confronting agents of that institution.
He added that the confrontation occurred this Wednesday, July 29, when the police were preparing to carry out a raid together with the Public Ministry (MP) in a property in the Lo de Rodríguez neighborhood, zone 18.
According to the PNC, investigators from the Specialized Criminal Investigation Division were unharmed and protected MP personnel.
He added that the agents repelled the attack and the alleged gang member was helped by firefighters.
Preliminarily, the seizure of an AK-47 rifle was reported.
Local media shared videos in which gunshots were heard during the confrontation.
The PNC indicated that the diligence continues and that it will expand the information.
According to information from the Volunteer Firefighters, the injured man was taken to the San Juan de Dios General Hospital.
