The final of the Clausura 2025 had everything: intensity, comeback, drama and as usual, memes for lots. Municipal fell 2-1 against Antigua GFC at the El Trébol stadium and social networks did their own: They did not miss the painful scarlet defeat in the last minutes.

The final of the Clausura 2025 had everything: intensity, comeback, drama and as usual, memes for lots. Municipal fell 2-1 against Antigua GFC at the El Trébol stadium and social networks did their own: They did not miss the painful scarlet defeat in the last minutes.

When it seemed that the goal of Jhon Méndez at the first half would be enough to give title 33 to the reds – and celebrate it just one day after his 89th anniversary -, Ancient reacted with all the weight of his history and Mauricio Tapia’s master hand. First he tied with José Ardón at minute 73, and when the game died, DeWinder Bradley silenced the clover with an agonizing goal at 90+4.

And there began the show … The memes released like an avalanche in networks. From references to the famous “anniversary curse”, to teasing with watches marking the 94 minute as the “red nightmare time”, the digital creatives party.

There was also space to remember the paternity of Tapia against Municipal, with images of him in the style “Thanos”, collecting avocados (titles) as gems of infinity. Other memes showed the red fans out of the stadium with the classic text of “Everything was going well … until the 94th minute arrived.
