From Monday 19 to Friday, May 23, rains are expected in Guatemala and warm temperatures in some regions, the National Institute of Seismology, Volcanology, Meteorology and Hydrology (Insivumeh) reported.
According to the weather newsletter, there is currently an instability zone in the Pacific area, between Guatemala and El Salvador, towards the Chiapas region, Mexico.
The above will cause abundant cloudiness from the south to the center of the country, where rains accompanied by electrical activity are expected.
The Insivumeh added that the country continues under the influence of a low pressure, so the thermometer will mark between 38 ° C and 40 ° C in Petén, while in the transverse strip of the north, east and the coast temperatures are foreseen between 33 ° C and 35 ° C.
For the central plateau, which includes the capital, a temperature between 28 ° C and 30 ° C is expected.
The largest accumulated rain in May have registered in the coastal part of San Marcos, Quetzaltenango, Retalhuleu, Suchitepéquez, Escuintla and the volcanic chain.
The Insivumeh asked the population for the forecast rains for this southern week to the center of the country. He did not rule out the flood of rivers, floods and lahares in the volcanic chain.
