The penitentiary system (SP) reported on Monday, May 19 about the death of the deprived of liberty Edwin Armando Morán Escobar.
He indicated that the death occurred at the Center for Preventive Detention for Men in Zone 18.
He pointed out that the inmate was in prison for the crimes of aggravated robbery and theft of mobile terminal.
He added that, preliminary, it is known that, when evaluated by prison nurses, Morán Escobar no longer presented vital signs.
According to the SP, there were no visible evidence of violence in the body of the deprived of liberty.
He affirmed that it will be the National Institute of Forensic Sciences in charge of determining the cause of death and the Public Ministry that will conduct the respective investigation, with which he will collaborate unrestrictedly.
A similar case occurred in that prison on March 31, last last, When a inmate was found lifeless at the entrance of sector 11.
