Judges and officials of the Inter -American Court of Human Rights (HDI Court) began with the 176 edition of its ordinary session in GuatemalaThis was confirmed on May 19 in an official statement and after an opening ceremony made on Monday.
It will be the third time in the story that Guatemala will host the ordinary period of the IDH court, which will take place from May 19 to 23.
The opening ceremony was held in the National Palace and had The participation of President Bernardo Arévalo and the president of the Court IdH, Nancy Hernández. Foreign Minister Carlos Ramírez and the Executive Deputy Director of the Presidential Commission for Peace and Human Rights, Arely Marisol, was also present.
During the IdH court session, according to the Government, Three public hearings of “contentious cases” will be developed and five private hearings for supervision of compliance with sentence in cases related to the state of Guatemala.
The so -called “Round Table on compliance with pecuniary repair measures ordered by the IDH Court in its sentences” will also be carried out.
Another of the activities that are part of the official agenda, in the words of the Government of Guatemala, is a Protocol meeting between Arévalo and the judges of the Regional Courtwith the objective of “addressing the situation in human rights of the country.”
