The powerful theater will present A country where everything is possible, except me in the Cultural Center of Spain. This scenic setting is part of the project Network women against sexist violence facing migratory processes.
According to the official statement of the event, The purpose is to contribute to the prevention of violence that women experience in different migratory processes in Guatemala and Central America.
The synopsis of the work addresses the encounter of a group of migrant women in the center of returnees in Guatemala. While they wait, each one tells their story and reflects on their future when returning home. In each testimony a friendship between them emerges, as well as the hope of leaving the difficulties of the road through mutual support.
The work is the result of a creative process that included theater strengthening workshops, creative writing and deep reflections on human mobility and the violence faced by women in migratory contexts. Dramaturgy and staging are based on the improvisations and experiences of the participants, the organizers indicate.
The cast is made up of Ana Rivera, Cindy Rivera, Mildred Izaguirre, Mishell Sandoval, Wendy Polanco, Aura Mazariegos, Miriam Leal and Alison Berenice.
