Students from a Villa Nueva school have been classless for three weeks for teachers strike

Parents of students of the Federation Type number 2, “April 17, 1763”, a morning day, in Zone 4 of Villa Nueva, have expressed their discontent because teachers have not taught classes for three weeks, which affects about 900 students.

According to the dissatisfied, only four teachers teach, while the other teachers remain on strike for being Affiliated to the union that Jobiel Acevedo presides.

One of the parents indicated that they were summoned to ask them to collaborate Q150 for maintenance issues, although the school is not operating, which considers unfair.

He said they have not been heard either by the director or by the teachers.

He pointed out that the lack of academic activities affects the development of children.

The dissatisfied indicated that the scheduled meeting was suspended because teachers were asked to explain why they do not teach, but there was no response.

He added that, supposedly, the strike is for medical insurance and school breakfast.

He questioned why only that school in the sector is not teaching.

A mother said that her children do not receive classes and, despite this, they are asked for collaboration Q150 to pay the janitors.

According to the dissatisfied, teachers who do not teach a guide so that, supposedly, students continue with learning at home.

At times, the situation has become tense, since parents demand teachers who teach and stop using school as the headquarters of the Assembly; Meanwhile, unionized teachers indicate that they are not taking the facilities.

A group of agents of the National Civil Police arrived at school to mediate in the situation.

One of the teachers who remains in the enclosure indicated that they do not want to confront. He added that he is not a teacher of the aforementioned school and that on Wednesday he had a trade union meeting, so he was there.

The situation is still tense, and in the room where the teachers remain the protesters placed a chain and a lock on the door so that they cannot leave.
