The former Minister of Communications, Alejandro Sinibaldi, must face trial for the Odebrecht case, after the Constitutional Court (CC) resolved with place an appeal from the Public Ministry (MP) on a provisional ruling that fought it from justice.

This Wednesday, June 4, it was reported that the CC, by majority, resolved with place an appeal of the MP and annulled a provisional ruling that prevented Sinibaldi from facing judgment for money laundering and passive bribery.

The CC annulled this ruling and maintains a resolution of the room that orders that the former Minister of Communications in front of the corruption case that involves the Brazilian construction company Odebrecht.

The only magistrate who did not vote for Sinibaldi to face justice was Héctor Hugo Pérez Aguilera.

In 2023, the former risk of greatest risk D, Juan José Jiménez, closed the case against Sinibaldi, in which he was accused of the crimes of money laundering and passive bribery, which would have committed the allegedly receiving bribes.

This resolution occurred after the defense of Sinibaldi achieved the cancellation of the effective collaboration agreements of three witnesses.
