The government of the US President, Donald Trump, Sopesa extend his prohibition or travel restriction to 36 other countries, a person who had access to the document reported on Monday.
The State Department announced in early June that prohibits the entrance to citizens from 12 countries, including Afghanistan, Haiti, Iran, Libya and Yemen, and imposes a partial restriction on the travelers of another seven, including Cuba and Venezuela.
But the expansion of the veto to 36 countries – including members of the United States such as Egypt and other nations of Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and the Pacific – seems to intensify the repression of the president against migration.
The Washington Post newspaper claims to have seen the internal memorandum and ensures that it has the signature of the head of diplomacy, Marco Rubio.

Apparently, the governments of the countries included in the list of 60 days to meet the new requirements of the State Department are given.
Among the countries are the most populated in Africa – Nigeria, Ethiopia, Egypt and Tanzania – as well as Cambodia, Kyrgyzista, Antigua and Barbuda, San Cristóbal and Nieves, Santa Lucía, Sudan del Sur, Siria and Vanuatu, among others.
If the ban was expanded to all countries cited in the memorandum, almost one in five people in the world would live in a country subject to US travel vetoes.
The 19 countries that face total or partial vetoes of entry to the United States, together with the 36, represent 1,470 million people, that is, approximately 18% of the world’s population.
When the initial prohibition was announced this month, Trump warned that it could be extended to other countries “as threats arise worldwide.”
The Republican tycoon justified the measure for a recent terrorist attack against Jews in Colorado.
The suspect of the attack, Mohamed Sabry Soliman, of Egyptian nationality according to judicial documents, was in the country illegally having expired his tourist visa, but requested asylum in September 2022.
Despite this, Egypt was not included in the initial list.
During his first term, from 2017 to 2021, Trump also imposed travel prohibitions. The measures stumbled upon the courts and had to be written several times before receiving green light from the Supreme Court.
