A few days after the inauguration of the XXV edition of the Guatemala Book Fair, Filgua 2025, The organizers published the official program on Tuesday, June 17.
On the official page of the event The full schedule is located, distributed in 36 pages, which shares the nearly 500 activities scheduled for the whole family at this literary party.
The page takes a few minutes to load the activities, which will be starting on Tuesday, July 1 and will end on Sunday 13.
During the event, 20 thousand books on myths and legends of the world will be distributed, which will be delivered to public school students. It is expected to also take this option to fairs in the interior of the country. In the elaboration of the book, the participation of the authors Gloria Hernández, National Literature Award (2022), and Frieda Morales, a degree in Letters.
This edition will offer a diverse agenda that includes book presentations, conferences, conversations, musical shows, storytelling, children’s workshops, academic activities, competitions and more.
The programming stands out for its variety of approaches and voices. Spain as a guest country of honor will have a delegation of 20 authors and more than 50 own activities.
Artistic activities such as the Opening Concert with Calequi and Las Panteras, Alux Nahual, the Las Nanas Canto Conference of Federico García Lorca and the participation of the Basque singer Izaro, among others. There will also be the II International Conference on Indigenous Linguistics, the Central America Meeting on Children’s and Youth Literature, and the International Library Conference.

1 The inauguration
It will be on Tuesday, July 1, at 10 am on the square. In this edition, 25 years have passed since its first edition, in 2000, and it is projected that this will be the largest and largest influx fair since its inception.

2. Night of terror literature

7. The tribute
On Thursday 10 at 6 pm, the tribute will be made to Marta Elena Casaús Arzú, Sociologist and Guatemalan-Spanish researcher to whom this edition is dedicated. It will be at 6 pm. 8. Irene Vallejo
Irene Vallejo is a philologist and writer. Graduate in Classical Philology, has a doctorate from the universities of Zaragoza and Florencia. He will sign books on Friday 11, at 11 am; And on Saturday 12, at 4 pm he will present his book The infinity in a reed, the invention of books in the ancient world. This is a book about the history of books. A tour of the life of that fascinating artifact that we invent so that words could travel in space and time. The history of its manufacture, of all types that we have rehearsed over almost thirty centuries: smoke, stone, clay, reeds, silk, skin, tree, trees and, the last arrivals, plastic and light.
9. THE NIGHT OF THE BOOKS
