Capture the essence of Lent and Holy Week, your talent can be the cover of the magazine El Pregón! The call is open to photographers, professionals and amateurs.

Free press invites your entire audience to participate in the photographic contest Light and faith . We seek the image that best represents fervor, devotion and cultural wealth of Lent and Holy Week. The winning photography will be the cover of The proclamationthe annual guide of Catholic activities of Lent in Guatemala.
Participate with religious images, processions, carpets and allegory of Holy Week in Guatemala. The photographs must have been taken between 2022 and the closing date of the contest, which will be on Tuesday, March 18.
Requirements to participate
- Each participant can send a single photograph.
- It must be of own authorship, in original size and color (as it was captured from the camera).
- Photographs taken with smart cell phones, iPad, tablets or similar devices will not be accepted.
- Photographs are accepted only in vertical format.
- Captures made with professional or semiprofessional cameras (Réflex or Mirrorless), and drones are allowed.
- Awarded photographs are not admitted in other competitions or publicly exhibited.
- The use of postproduction tools to alter the image is not allowed, nor are photomontages or photos generated with artificial intelligence accept.
- The authors undertake to yield the rights of the photographs. When you upload your image, you must download a document to place your signature accepting the transfer of rights to Grupo Press Libre.
To participate, you must fill out this form, which requests:
- General data: full name of the author, DPI, address, email
- Title or motto of photography.
- Name of the processional courtship (if apply) or description of the photograph.
- Date, year and place where the photograph was taken.
Assignment of rights
Participants must sign a document in which they accept the assignment of image rights to Free press for publication in the proclamation and other associated media.
Selection and jury
The Free Press Editorial Board will evaluate the photographs taking these aspects into account:
- Visual and technical impact.
- Representation of fervor, tradition and devotion.
- Originality and creativity.
- The winning photo will be published in the magazine El Pregón 2025, on Friday, April 5.
Deadline for shipping
The photographs must be sent before Tuesday, March 18. Shipments outside the established deadline will not be accepted.
