Max has announced the results of its collection campaign for the benefit of Puente, which through the donations of the Guatemalans and the contribution of the store chain an amount of Q150 thousand that will directly benefit 2,797 children and 2,401 mothers in children’s food and child development practices were reached.
With six years of collaboration between both institutions, it has led to important advances in the communities in which the foundation and the fight against malnutrition in Guatemala works. In 2024 the collection was carried out on November 6 until December 24, with a much more relevant participation on the website than the previous year.
“In Grupo Distllesa we are committed to improving the quality of life of the Guatemalans. That is why the alliance with Fundación Puente is so important to us. Every year we are surprised by the work they do and how they take advantage of each resource to serve more families and children with malnutrition in the country. Thanks to all those who joined this noble cause, we hope that this 2025 will exceed the collection and help the statistics to be reduced, ”said Andrés Ruiz, director of Human Resources of Grupo Distellsa.

The funds raised will be used to strengthen projects in Santa María Cahabón, Alta Verapaz; and San José Poaquil, Chimaltenango; expanding the impact on these communities through the Núrteme centers. Each center is equipped to give comprehensive early childhood care, from gestation to 4 years, focusing on preventing chronic malnutrition through community educational programs.
