Thousands of Guatemalans have been affected by the blockages against this measure, promoted by the Bernardo Arévalo government. The disposition has taken dozens of protesters to the streets that, on the afternoon of this Tuesday, March 18, they keep the traffic in 12 main arteries of the capital.

Amílcar Montejo, head of communication of Emetra, confirmed that the blockages persist in 12 points of the city and that groups of people who could close other routes have been observed.

“We are finishing the second third of the day and during this March 18, 2025, the vehicle blockages in the Valley of the Capital City follow, this against the mandatory insurance that was published in the Official Gazette, according to what the protesters have reported,” said Montejo.

He added that, due to the protests, the service of your bus and transmetro was suspended, since several main and secondary roads are affected.

Montejo recommended being informed through serious and trustworthy media, as well as in the official social networks of the Municipality, where the reactivation of such services will be announced.

  • Peripheral in front of Colonia Cuatro de February.
  • Kilometer 7 of the route to the Atlantic, both in the area of ​​zone 17 and in the sector of zone 18.
  • La Pedrera and 16 street boulevard, zone 6, with protest in both directions.
  • La Pedrera and 20 street boulevard, zone 6, with another demonstration in both directions.
  • 15 Avenida and 15 street, zone 6, towards the José Milla and Vidaurre road, with vehicular block.
  • Two vehicular blockages on the 18th street, between 9th and 10th avenues, zone 1.
  • Demonstration in front of the Canalitos Park, zone 24.
  • Manifestation of hooded on Petapa Avenue and 33 street, zone 12, both ways.
  • Demonstration on the Tzul and 42 street road, zone 12, both in the section that is directed to the clover and the area of ​​zone 21.
