The judge of the Peace Court, Mario René Trejo, at a hearing this Thursday, March 20, linked Brayan Josué Lobos Tocorá and Selvin Humberto Ixbalán Coyoy for the crime of attack.
Both are pointed out of have faced riot agents of the National Civil Police during a blockade on the 9th avenue and 18 streetin the area of Plaza Barrios, zone 1.
In that place there was one of the demonstrations against the mandatory vehicle insurance; However, the situation turned tense and there were clashes between security forces and protesters.
The riot agents used tear gas to deter the groups of dissatisfied, which launched several types of objects against the uniformed.
The judge granted them house arrest and forbade them to leave the country, they can only mobilize in the capital. In addition, the first five days of each month to the headquarters of the Public Prosecutor’s Office (MP) for the biometric registration must be attended.
During the audience a video was reproduced in which, supposedly, the way in which both were captured is observed.
On March 18 and 19, in Guatemala, there was a series of blockages in rejection of mandatory insurance, which was finally repealed by the government.
“They were arrested for having launched objects to the Elements of the PNC, specifically pieces of Bloc and a metal tube,” said the Public Ministry according to the police report.
The intermediate stage hearing was scheduled for July 18, as resolved by the judge.
According to the investigation, both are pointed out to have launched objects against PNC agents during the eviction of the blocking registered in Barrios Square, Zone 1.
Lobos Tocorá indicated being a merchant, said he left the gym when he received a call from his dad, who is in charge of a sale of shoes.
He explained that he ran to help close the commercial premises when he would have been intercepted by agents and did not participate in the disturbances. The Prosecutor’s Office points out of throwing a piece of block and hurting an agent.
While Selvin Humberto Ixbalán Coyoy indicated that he recently began working as a winemaker. He mentioned that he lives in zone 5 and had to go through the area where the riots were recorded. The MP points to launch a green tube with black towards the agents.
