The National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (Conred) reported this March 22 on a fire that originated near a residential in San Miguel Petapa.
According to preliminary information, the fire began in the vicinity of the residential known as eucalyptus.
The authorities pointed out that, as a prevention measure, several people residing in the aforementioned place were evacuated, mainly because of the smoke generated by the incident.
A video posted by Conred shows the work of relief bodies to suffocate the fire, which develops in a wooded area.
Another fire recorded this Saturday occurred near the Las Charcas neighborhood, on a hillside that borders Zone 11 of Villa New and Zone 8 of Mixco. The relief bodies managed to extinguish the fire in their entirety.
