CIV reported that this weekend the five lanes of the Palín-Escuintla highway will be enabled for all types of vehicles.

Miguel Ángel Díaz Bobadilla, head of the Ministry of Communications, Infrastructure and Housing (CIV), announced on Monday, March 24, during his virtual participation in the press conference held at the National Palace, the qualification of the PASO in the Kilometer 44 of the Palín-Sucuintla highway.

The official indicated that on Sunday they carried out an inspection and found that the last asphalt layer on lane five was placed, which was finished.

He added that in the course of this week all the lanes for the transit of vehicles of all kinds will be enabled.

In addition, he informed that they will carry out cleaning work, are in the final phase of placing the curbs of the central driver and will proceed to signaling.

“We are enabling at the end of the week the highway and That section is finally enabled before Holy Week starts ”, The official added.

On March 7, the CIV reported the authorization of four of the lanes, two to the capital and two towards Escuintla.

He indicated on that occasion that the loaded heavy transport could circulate only from north to south.
