Authorities of the Ministry of the Interior, of the National Civil Police (PNC) and the Secretary of Strategic Intelligence appeared on Monday, March 24 before the deputies of the Bank of the National Unit of Hope, in a citation in which they referred to the BLOCKS CARRIED OUT IN REJECTION TO THE MANDATORY INSURANCE.
The Vice Minister of Security, Claudia Palencia, indicated that they are not aware that political groups have infiltrated the blockages that occurred on March 18 and 19.
According to Palencia, the complaints related to the pirate taxi vehicle that were used to overwhelm a group of PNC agents in the 18th street and 9th Avenue of Zone 1.
The launch of stones against the uniformed has also been denounced, as well as anonymous complaints that refer to the participation of men with their face covered during the blockages.
The official explained that some participants of these protests have cataloged as criminal groups, due to the use of the vehicle to run over agents and the link between pirates and gang taxis.
The Secretary of Strategic Intelligence, Christian Espinoza, said they did not participate in the process to approve the mandatory insurance for vehicles, although he said that, according to the analysis carried out, the blockages were spontaneous.
Guatemala lived days of manifestations nationwide after the payment of Mandatory insurance for motorcycles, private vehicles, urban passenger transport and cargo vehicles.
After two days of tension, the government repealed the agreements that gave life to the insurance and indicated that a dialogue will be established.
