Deputy Samuel Pérez denounces that they forced doors from their office and request videos

The official deputy Samuel Pérez Álvarez denounced on Wednesday, March 26 that strangers forced the plates of the doors of his office a few days ago, an act that qualifies as a form of intimidation against him.

For this reason, the parliamentarian filed a complaint with the Public Prosecutor’s Office (MP) and announced that he will request the videos of the perimeter cameras to the Metropolitan Company of Transportation and Transit (Emetra). In addition, he indicated that it is not the first time that a similar situation occurs with members of the Semilla Movement Party, so he will ask Congress to provide security to leased offices.

My office was violated. We found that the plates of the office entrance had been destroyed, among other office doors, Pérez said at a press conference.

He added: it is not the first time that this happens to some members of the seed bench and we will not allow this type of facts, which could be attempts to intimidate, remain in impunity.

Therefore, I am filed a complaint with the Public Ministry to establish the potential crimes that could be identified. I would not rule out that they may be related to tentative, attempt at theft and property damage, which were evidently committed.

The deputy reported that he will ask the Human Rights Attorney’s Office for a security risk assessment of the area in general and that clear recommendations are issued to protect all people.

I will also request today the recordings of the cameras of the perimeter of the last two weeks. We do not specifically have the day this happened, only that it was in recent days, he said.

He also said that he is struck that these facts only affect seed deputies and not other parliamentarians.

Obviously it does not happen with other political actors who are defenders of a regime of corruption and impunity, he reiterated. Pérez also said that he expects progress by the MP, since, as he said, several of the complaints filed by his bench have been dismissed.
