The historic “Lord’s Tree”, located on the Avenida del Cementerio General, in the 3rd capital zonehas caught the attention of the population and the authorities due to a branch that fell on the road, reason why the decision was made to cut it for the danger it represents.
Given the decision, the Municipality of Guatemala indicated that the Municipal Directorate of the Environment analyzes what other species of tree will in place, in order to preserve the historical value of the area.
In addition to its historical value, “the tree of the regrets” is also recognized for hosting numerous legends and supernatural stories.
