The case of Melissa Palacios will continue to know each other in Chiquimula after a challenge was left without place against Judge Juan José Regalado.

The magistrates of the Mixed Chamber of the Court of Appeals declared without place a challenge against the Judge of First Instance of Chiquimula, Juan José Regalado, who will continue to know the case of the crime against Melissa Palacios.
The challenge was raised last March by the victim’s institute, to which the Public Ministry and the magistrates of the Chamber resolved on Wednesday.
With the resolution, the Court of First Criminal, Narcoactivity and Crimes against Chiquimula’s environment may continue to know and solve on the case.
The challenge was presented to separate Regalado, since it was considered that he had exterminated opinion, which made it impossible for him to continue knowing the judicial file.
This action is independent of the petition that seeks that the case is no longer known in Chiquimula, but is transferred to a court of greater risk in the capital, derived from the way in which relatives and acquaintances have reached the courts with armed personnel.
According to the Public Ministry, the challenge was against three of the five judges of the Chiquimula Judiciary.
