Communications FC arrives with high spirits after its victory on matchday 19 of the National Tournament, after winning by the minimum, 1-0, against Aurora FC, thanks to a score by Agustín Vuletich, a recent addition to the white team.
That victory not only allowed him to add three vital points, but, after the other results of the date, it also helped him rise to the leadership of the competition and continue in the intense fight for permanence, in an accumulated table where salvation is not yet assured.
With that momentum, the cream team is already beginning to prepare its next commitment: a new edition of the National Classic against Municipal, as a visitor. The albos will seek to defend the top of the tournament, with just three days remaining until the end of the qualifying phase.
However, all is not calm in the cream camp. This Monday, the club confirmed a significant loss: the injury of one of its most important players, a pillar in the midfield, the Guatemalan Marco “El Pitbull” Domínguez. Communications released the official medical report through its social networks, through the following statement:
“FC Communications informs that our player Marco Domínguez has been diagnosed with a partial rupture of his Achilles tendon. The player will be out of action for a few weeks, leaving his return to the fields subject to evolution and the corresponding evaluations. Communications FC wishes Marco a speedy and successful recovery.”
For the Chilean coach Marco Antonio “El Fantasma” Figueroa, this injury represents a blow at a key moment in the tournament. Domínguez has been one of the trusted men in the tactical schemefundamental in containment, team balance and physical display in the middle of the field.
Although the club has not established a specific date for his return and everything will depend on his evolution, everything indicates that the midfielder will miss the rest of the qualifying phase.
From that account, he would not be available for the National Classic 337, which will be played at the Manuel Felipe Carrera stadium, nor for the decisive commitments for permanence, especially the direct duels against Guastatoya and the closing of the tournament against Malacateco.
The absence of “El Pitbull” now forces the coaching staff to rethink their starting eleven and look for alternatives at a stage in which there is no margin for error. Communications is at stake for the leadership, the pride of the Classic and, above all, permanence in the National League.
