Jaibal Atitlán will house 244 hectares – equivalent to more than five caballerías or 350 soccer fields – a tourist cable car, conceived as the main attraction of the destination, with a route of 4.8 kilometers, a duration of approximately 15 minutes and would have five stations.
During this journey, visitors will be able to move between different points of the complex until they reach viewpoints overlooking the lake. The estimated investment exceeds US$22 million (around Q176 million), which implies that the cable car would have a cost close to six times the acquisition value of the property.
The project also includes other components:
- A hotel zone with an airfield
- A linear park along the Qiskab River
- a hydroelectric
- One kilometer public beach
At the second point of the route, according to the municipality, the construction of a public beach of more than one kilometer is planned, as well as the remodeling of the pier and the construction of a boardwalk.
This is what a Guatevisión team found who toured the land where the cable car will be built.
