Luca is a fun character, full of energy and enthusiasm that was created in 2015 by the Guatemalan communicator, graphic designer, professor and actor Roberto Liao, who for more than two decades has spread art through Puzzlea Guatemalan project dedicated to the creation of recreational, artistic and family experiences.
According to Liao, Puzzle It is much more than workshops because it considers that it is a space where creativity, imagination and family coexistence come together.
“Behind each activity there is also a team of collaborators who, together with Luca, make it possible to bring simultaneous, high-quality experiences to different spaces,” said Liao.
According to his creator, Luca has become a key figure within the workshops, because, with his close, creative and empathetic energy, he connects with children and families through art.
Liao explained that Luca arose due to the need to create a character that would tell stories to children in Guatemala. Furthermore, he is convinced that art is a fundamental tool for the comprehensive development of children.
“Through creative activities, children strengthen skills such as fine motor skills, concentration, emotional expression and problem solving. In addition, when art is shared as a family, it becomes a unique opportunity to strengthen bonds, create memories and encourage communication,” he stressed.
Currently Liao highlights Luca, but for more than 20 years he has led the project Puzzlewith which I designed and implemented artistic and recreational experiences for children and families, from painting workshops to interactive activities that stimulate creativity, learning and emotional connection.
“Each activity is designed so that participants not only create something with their hands, but also experience a special moment as a family,” he added.

Why do they do the activities and workshops?
According to Liao, in Puzzle They believe in the power of art as a means to transform experiences. Furthermore, the project arose with the intention of creating accessible, creative and joy-filled spaces for everyone.
“We are motivated to see how a child feels proud of what they create, how a family shares quality time and how small moments become meaningful memories,” he said.
