The Constitutional Court (CC) granted an amparo that annulled the list of candidates for attorney general and head of the Public Ministry (MP) that the Nominating Commission had presented and ordered the process to be returned to the qualification of candidates, this due to those candidates who accredited experience as a judge.
CC sources reported that the protection was granted after a heated discussion whose vote was by a majority of 3 to 2.
The Postulator must now re-qualify the candidates to direct the MP, through a grading table, which could alter the grade obtained by candidates who are judges.
