The Spanish extension player Rafa Nadal; the Real Madrid footballers Jude Bellingham and Thibaut Courtois, and the Italian Jannik Sinner, current number one in the ATP ranking, This Thursday they enjoyed a rally on the clay court set up at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium on the occasion of the Madrid Masters 1,000.
Music concerts, ice skating rink, football matches NFL and now a clay tennis court. The Santiago Bernabéu has once again changed its appearance to have a tennis court instead of grass with which to delight the best players in the world during their time in Madrid and demonstrate its status as a multipurpose space.
The track, installed for training, was opened by Nadal and Courtois, on the one hand, and Bellingham and Sinner, on the other. The four played a rally under the watchful eye of Florentino Pérezpresident of Real Madrid, who acted as chair umpire.
In that rally, which took place in a very relaxed atmosphere, Rafa Nadal’s son, also called Rafa, was present, who was seen with a racket in his hand playing with a ball.
Also attending the inauguration of the court were Feliciano López and Garbiñe Muguruza, directors of the Madrid tournament, which continues to innovate in the organizational field to offer tennis players an experience beyond the purely sporting component.
The Santiago Bernabéu court is designed so that any tennis player in the Madrid who wants to train or take a photo in the stadium can do so voluntarily, upon request, without giving up the main training headquarters in the Caja Mágica.
They were also present at the premiere of the track Santiago Bernabéu, the Polish tennis player Iga Swiatek and the Colombian soccer player from Real Madrid Linda Caicedo.
