Heat and cold front will influence the weather in Guatemala this May 1 and weekend

Guatemala experiences a heat wave in recent dayssince in some regions the thermometer has reached 40 °C. In that sense, the Insivumeh shared what the weather will be like for the May 1 holiday and for the weekend of May 2 and 3.

During these days the warm and foggy atmosphere will continue during the day, with areas of morning fog and little cloudiness, which will alternate with partial cloudiness.

The Insivumeh does not rule out scattered drizzles and rains with electrical activity, from regions from the north to the center of the country, on Sunday, May 3.

The expected scattered rain showers are associated with local conditions and the approach of a weak cold front to the Gulf of Mexico on Saturday night and Sunday.

The forecast warns that high temperatures for this weekend may favor an increase in forest fire outbreaks. In addition, the forecast weather conditions favor the presence of severe local storms.

Warm conditions will persist in most of the national territory, with temperatures that could reach between 35 °C and 41 °C in regions such as the Pacific, the north of the country and the valleys of the Oriente.

While in the capital, temperatures will be between 28 °C and 30 °C. In the central and western highlands, the thermometer could read between 26 °C and 32 °C.
