MP imputes new facts to three defendants in the Pirates of Death case after expanding the investigation

Three people involved in the Pirates of Death case will face new charges, after the Public Ministry (MP) expanded the investigation and detected more victims, judicial sources reported this Monday, May 4.

The tenth criminal judge, Jimmi Bremmer, accepted the MP’s request, so the accused Wilder Augusto Robledo Delgado, Andrés Yoc Yac and Jairo Barrillas must face criminal proceedings for kidnapping or kidnapping, attempted murder, aggravated robbery and fraudulent use of credit or debit cards.

Although they were already prosecuted for these crimes, the Prosecutor’s Office pointed out new facts after expanding the investigation, which would have left more victims.

According to the investigations, the criminal structure—dismantled in April 2025—was dedicated to drugging and assaulting taxi users. Some victims died from overdoses after drinking adulterated drinks.

The intermediate stage hearing, scheduled for this day, was postponed to May 18, when the progress of the investigation will be known.

On July 2, 2025, 15 of 16 alleged members of the structure were linked to proceedings. The events investigated would have occurred between January 2023 and August 2024.

According to the MP, the organization operated mainly on weekends, at the end of the month, in fortnights and during holidays. Official records detail that it would be linked to at least 23 deaths.
