Two agents of the National Civil Police (PNC) were captured this Friday, May 8, accused of breaking into a house in zone 18, shooting a woman and abandoning her body in Palencia; At the scene they left the bumper of a patrol car, a key piece that allowed them to be linked to the crime, reported the Public Ministry (MP).

The detainees were identified as Kevin O. and Yostin C., assigned to Police Station 12. The MP attributes to them the crimes of kidnapping or kidnapping, murder, attempted murder and abuse of authority.

According to the preliminary investigation of the Prosecutor’s Office for Crimes against the Life and Integrity of Persons, the incident occurred at dawn on May 7 in the Vuelta Grande sector, Lo de Rodríguez village, zone 18.

The investigation establishes that the agents violently broke into a building, where they attacked a man and shot a woman.

One of the key clues to link the suspects to the case was the discovery, at the scene, of a patrol car bumper with GUA plates, which fell off during the forced extraction of one of the victims.

Hours later, the authorities located the woman’s body in a wooded area of ​​Palencia, with signs of violence.

The prosecutor’s staff processed and executed the arrest warrants before the Pluripersonal Court of Guatemala within a period of less than one day from the commission of the crime, as reported.
