David Alaba will leave the Real Madrid at the end of this season, as confirmed this Friday by the Spanish club through an official statement published in their institutional channels.
The departure of the Austrian defender adds to the recent farewells announced in the white team, including those of captain Dani Carvajal and coach Álvaro Arbeloawho will not continue the next campaign either.
“Real Madrid wants to show its gratitude and all its love to a player who has been part of one of the most successful stages in our history,” the club said in the statement.
Alaba will end a period of five seasons with the Madrid shirt, a period in which he played 131 games and won 11 titles.
In his record with Real Madrid, two stand out Champions Leagues, two Club World Cups, two European Super Cups, two LaLiga titles, one Copa del Rey and two Spanish Super Cups.
The president of the club, Florentino Pérez, also dedicated a few words to the Austrian defender, highlighting his sporting contribution and commitment during these years.
“David Alaba is loved by all Real Madrid fans for his dedication, his work and for being part of the club’s historic moments. Real Madrid will always be his home.”a”, stated the leader.
One of Alaba’s most emblematic memories with the white team was his celebration during the road to winning the Fourteenth Champions League, an image that remained marked among the Madrid fans.
The Santiago Bernabéu stadium will honor this Saturday Alaba during the last League game of the season, in a ceremony in which Dani Carvajal and Álvaro Arbeloa will also be fired.
