They publish the schedules and days when heavy transport cannot circulate during Holy Week and vehicles that are exempt from this provision.
Load transport will have schedule restrictions to circulate in Guatemala during Holy Week 2025.
The Ministry of Communications published on Tuesday, April 8, in the Central America Diario, the agreement 538-2025, which establishes the circulation schedule for the transport of heavy load by the ruling of Easter week throughout the national territory.
The restriction schedule covers from 12 noon on Wednesday, April 16 until 24 hours on Sunday 20.
The agreement explains that the references of heavy loading that translates perishable products, food, drinks, fuels, audiovisual equipment for authorized events and cranes is excepted from the aforementioned schedules, the latter because they are service equipment.
It must be understood as heavy load transportation that has a gross weight greater than 3.5 metric tons.
Since it is taxative – specific – the list of heavy load transports that are excepted, it is not necessary to carry any special permit issued by the General Directorate of Transportation, being sufficient to present the documentation that covers the transfer of the products, according to the agreement.
According to the publication, the heavy load transports that transfer the authorized products to circulate must carry the legal documentation that supports the transfer of the merchandise for each of their deliveries, or of the audiovisual team for each authorized event.
Heavy transport can circulate only from kilometer 290 of the CA-9 North Highway to the facilities of the Puerto Barrios Railway Terminal and the facilities of Puerto Santo Tomás de Castilla on the same route.
You can also circulate of kilometer 80 of the CA-9 South-A road to the facilities of the Quetzal port, to kilometer 104 of the Ca-9 Sur road and at kilometer 114 of the same route.
Today, Ministerial Agreement 538-2025 was published in Central America, which establishes the circulation schedule for heavy load transport for Easter rest throughout the national territory.
