Alleged calls for a demonstration circulate on social networks on Thursday, April 10, by the Guatemala (Steg) education workers union.
In some of these calls it is indicated that it will be manifestations at the national scale, although this has not been confirmed by the Steg leadership at the national scale.
In that sense, Amílcar Montejo, road spokesman for the Municipal Traffic Police (PMT), indicated that through social networks they have learned of the possible demonstrations in the capital.
He added that the PMT has not been informed of any mobilization, so they will be in monitoring in case the demonstrations are confirmed.
Montejo added that, given this supposed information that “it is not yet precise,” many motorists will leave earlier on Thursday, April 10.
“We are going to have a premature mass transit,” says Montejo.
He said that car revenues to the capital could increase from 4.30 hours.
He recalled that, in previous demonstrations, sectors such as the Route to Pacific, the Aguilar Batres road, Martí street, the Roosevelt road, Vista Hermosa and the boulevard Los Próceres have registered mass transit from early hours.
It was tried to contact the leader Joviel Acevedo to confirm regarding the demonstration, but there was no response.
