It’s been almost four months since the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, mother of television presenter Savannah Guthrie, in her home in Arizona, and the authorities They have not been able to locate her or those allegedly responsible for the incident.
Recently, FBI Director Kash Patel revealed more details about the investigation and indicated that there have been aspects that have delayed and hindered the search for Guthrie.
For example, Patel mentioned that the FBI “immediately showed up and offered their help, but Pima authorities They did not give him full access to the research until four days later“.
“We offered our help to analyze the DNA. And the decision is yours. They chose to use a private laboratory“Patel noted.
He indicated that FBI authorities generally participate when local authorities allow it, and referred to video images obtained by the security camera of Guthrie’s home.
“What the FBI is an expert in, what we did when we finally got access to the Ring doorbell camera, for example, was we reached out to our partners at Google and said, ‘We know there was no paid subscription service, but let’s dig into the metadata and see if we can find a needle in a haystack‘” stated the director.
“We continue to offer assistance. I even visited our office in Tucson, where we had 150 agents and analysts working on the search for Nancy Guthrie to provide information,” he added.
According to information from the BBC, Guthrie’s family has offered a reward of US$1 million for information leading to the discovery of Nancy, added to a reward of US$100 thousand from the FBI.
Nancy Guthrie was last seen on January 31 in Arizona. Since then, authorities have presented several pieces of evidence, including videos from his home security camera, in which a masked person is observed.
